IMPACT Camps will be offered in person, however, if conditions change, the camps will be offered on a virtual platform.
Students MUST be fully vaccinated to attend camp. Any student who has COVID-19 symptoms or has a known exposure to COVID-19 are required to email the result of a negative COVID-19 PCR test to our Volunteer Services Manager, Destiny Butler, by 4 PM on the Friday before Camp begins or the student will not be able to participate.
(These guidelines are based on the most recent guidance from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), The American Camp Association (ACA), and The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services)
IMPACT Camps provide area high school-aged youth with an affordable, local week community service/urban mission experience. We offer IMPACT camps in the Summer and when feasible during Spring Break.
Students participating in the program spend Monday through Friday from 9 A.M to 4 P.M on a staff-supervised team working on a variety service projects. They will hear from community leaders and engage in reflection activities. Participants will also receive leadership and team-building training, and learn about housing, hunger, poverty, caring for the environment, and other issues facing the local community.
Students should bring their own lunch. Some small snacks will be provided.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, TNVLC will not offer carpool transportation. Students must be dropped off/picked up or drive themselves to/from each service site. You will receive the list of service sites during the week before IMPACT Camp begins.
