July 8th | 3-6 P.M. | Durham Central Park
Come and celebrate Durham’s refugee and immigrant communities at Durham Refugee Day!
Durham Refugee Day is a community-wide event that celebrates the contributions and cultures of our refugee and immigrant neighbors and provides an opportunity to stand in solidarity with these communities.
This is a FREE family-friendly event with live music, community education booths, activities for kids, and food vendors from around the world!
Church World Service (CWS), one of our new partners, is looking for volunteers for the event. Come join the fun and sign up to volunteer here!
Every third Thursday of the month | 12:30-1:30 PM | Durham Center for Senior Life
Want to meet other volunteers and learn about awesome programs going on in our community?
Every third Thursday of the month we meet for presentation and conversation with a nonprofit partner that is dedicated to improving the community. Join us at the Durham Center for Senior Life from 12:30-1:30!
The schedule for the upcoming months is as follows:
-Thursday, July 20th: Vets to Vets
-Thursday, August 17th: Aging Well Durham
-Thursday, September 21st: Church World Service
This is a great opportunity to learn more about RSVP and getting involved with volunteering.

Are you a long-time Durhamite or a newcomer? Do you love learning about your community? Whatever the case may be, join us for a guided tour of the Museum of Durham History! After the tour, we will have some refreshments and learn a bit more about the awesome volunteer opportunities at the Museum!

Friday, August 11 | Durham Rescue Mission
Every year, Durham Rescue Mission hosts a Back to School event to give away food, clothes, backpacks, school supplies, and other needed materials to families to help set students up for success throughout the year! Join RSVP in supporting them with two volunteer shifts: 6:30-9 AM and 8:30-11 AM.
